Description
Pure Gold Nutrition
BIO SHIITAKE+ oral liquid food supplement
Produced from BIO raw materials, with a concentrated active ingredient, using a unique production technology.
Shiitake mushroom is most commonly used to restore weakened immune function, prevent and adjunct treatment of cancers (e.g., stomach, liver, rectal, and lung cancer, leukaemia), prevent and treat colds, bronchitis, flu, and other viral infections, and reduce chronically high cholesterol levels. In older people, it is an important immune stabiliser (rejuvenates) and in young people, it can help with stress and fatigue.
Due to the unique production technology, PGN Shiitake mushroom extract contains twice as much mushroom raw material as commercially available products. 5 ml of Pure Gold Nutrition Shiitake mushroom extract is equal to 35-37 mushroom capsules. Our product contains no alcohol and no added sugar!
The daily dose of 5 ml contains 2 g of dried mushrooms, which means that the product contains the equivalent of 10 g of fresh mushrooms, depending on the type of mushroom. This unique manufacturing technology removes the chitin shell and the indigestible parts of the mushroom, which is of great importance because our digestive system cannot break down chitin and the active ingredients are contained in this chitin skeleton. So, we would have to consume a much larger quantity of mushrooms to absorb that amount of active ingredients, and even then, it is not certain that those active ingredients would be absorbed.
This also proves the validity of the fact that this liquid extract is much more effective than any of the capsule products. The special homogenising agent contains only the active ingredients of the mushrooms, whereas in capsules the dried mushroom body is also in a ground form, so there is a question of absorption of the active ingredients.
BIO raw materials
The fact that our ingredients are produced in Tyrol, a mycological laboratory recognised by the Austrian government, is proof of the excellence of our products. In the laboratory of the Mushroom Research Center Austria GmbH (MRCA), organic medicinal mushroom species with a high active ingredient content are cultivated. Research has shown that the nutrient content of organic foods can be up to 100% higher than those from conventional farms.
The laboratory’s research is always looking for the mushroom species with the highest active ingredient content, so our products will have a higher active ingredient content. There is no similar product on the market!
Warning!
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose! The consumption of this product is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep it out of the reach of young children! Shake well before using! It is not recommended for children, people with autoimmune diseases, or pregnant women. Although side-effects are very rare, its polysaccharide, lentinan can sometimes cause an allergic skin reaction. Red streaks resembling whiplash appear mainly on the extremities. Shiitake dermatitis can also be caused by cooked mushrooms. Fortunately, it is very rare. No negative interactions with medicines have been reported.
Active ingredients
Because of the hot water fractionation, the formulations of PGN liquid extracts contain polysaccharides (1-3 -glucans), essential amino acids (e.g. glutamic acid, L-tryptophan, L-arginine, lysine), and vitamins in the fungi, as well as organic active ingredients such as benzaldehydes or plant steroids and phospholipids due to the ethanol fractionation. The importance of polysaccharides-fuels for the immune system: a common theme in most scientific reports is that the most important health effect of mushroom preparations is to stimulate the immune system. Polysaccharides are most commonly used to restore weakened immune functions, prevent and adjunct treatment of cancers, and prevent and treat colds, various inflammations, and viral infections. In elderly people, it is an important immune stabilising agent.
The significance of phospholipids: Lipids are essential organic compounds in living organisms that are apolar macromolecules composed of glycerol and fatty acids. They are insoluble in water. They are important energy stores and structure builders in the body, but also include hormones and vitamins A, K, E, and D. Medicinal mushrooms, and therefore our Reishi mushroom extract, contains non-hydrolysing lipids (eicosanoids, terpenes, steroids, carotenoids), including terpenes, steroids, and carotenoids.
What Shiitake mushroom can offer for you
Shiitake mushroom main active ingredients
- Immunomodulatory polysaccharides
- Lentinan (GlykaNova Medimush-Lentinex ®)
- Mannan peptide = KS2
- Sulphur peptide = lentinoin
- Eritadenine
- Ergosterol
Shiitake mushroom health benefits:
- antiviral (e.g. against influenza type A, mumps, herpes, HIV, Epstein-Barr and hepatitis B viruses);
- antibacterial and antifungal properties;
- immune stimulants (primarily the polysaccharide called K-2, and lentinan, which compounds mobilise phagocytes and other defence mechanisms);
- tumour inhibitor (due to its benzaldehyde, lentinan, and KS-2 content);
- liver protection and inhibiting the liver’s inflammation process (primarily mycelium extract);
- lowering blood pressure, lowering LDL cholesterol, and slowing the progression of arthrosclerosis (due to eritadenin);
- lentinan stimulates the production of insulin, to slow down the development of diabetes;
- general strengthening and invigorating effects (this may be the explanation for the supposed potency -enhancing effect).
Shiitake mushroom nutritional value
Shiitake mushrooms are an important source of potassium and zinc (the latter compound is involved in immune defence). About 14% of its dry matter is amino acids, 40% of which are essential. Its carbohydrate content is 67% and its fat content is 4%. It has a high fibre content. It has a nucleic acid content of around 7% (cereals 1-4%, meat 2.2-5.7%) and contains vitamins B1, B2 and D2 (ergosterol).
The main active substances in Shiitake mushroom are high molecular weight polysaccharides. The most important purified polysaccharide is lentinan, but also 1,3 -β-glucan and emitanin, as well as the mannan peptide produced from mycelium culture and called KS2, are worthy of note. The garlic-like taste of the mushroom is due to the divalent peptide lentionin. Also of therapeutic interest are an alkaloid-like purine derivative called erythadenine and phenolic compounds.
